Diocese of St. Augustine 2010 Conference: Victory in Jesus
(Please read and help us to let others know about this upcoming conference!)
Note: Interpretation will be provided for the deaf at all sessions
Dear Friends in Christ,
May the blessings of Christ be with you, your family, and parish this New Year!
We would like to make your parish aware of our upcoming annual Diocese of St. Augustine Catholic Charismatic Conference, “VICTORY IN JESUS” (1Cor. 15:57), Feb. 5, 6, & 7, 2010. A PDF of the brochure is attached. Information can also be found at our web site: http://www.staugustinehouseofprayer.org/2010CharismaticConference.html
We live in a day when it often seems that worldliness is reigning and that people of faith are in a “diminishing minority”. What better time to become increasingly rooted in the ultimate reality—-”Jesus has called us to be active participants in His triumph”.
Please share this information with any who may be interested and any who need encouragement and a deeper relationship with the Lord. If possible, please include information about this conference in your church bulletin.
All are welcome to join many other brothers and sisters in the faith as we join in prayer and praise, rich liturgy, Eucharistic Adoration, and receive substantive inspiration through gifted speakers to include:
Bishop Victor Galeone, Fr. Bob Hogan from the San Antonio Community of Brothers of the Beloved Disciple, Jean Roach, Tom Edwards, Mary Shaw and others.
Get all of the details as well as your early registration form at the following link:
http://www.staugustinehouseofprayer.org/2010CharismaticConference.html
Please pass this information on! God bless each of you.
In the Love of Christ,
Mary Shaw
Member, Diocesan Charismatic Leadership Committee

FSDB Competes against Miami’s Solid Rock Christian in High School Football
At 4 p.m. on Friday, October 30, the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind’s varsity football team will compete against Solid Rock Christian Academy. This marks the first time for these two teams to play each other. The game will take place at Solid Rock’s football field. The school is located at 19000 SW 112th Ave., Miami, Florida 33157.
Please join school administrators, staff and parents at this event to show your support. Players who are from the Broward/Miami area will be able to compete in front of their friends and family, which is a rare occurrence since most games take place in North Florida where the school is located.
Head football coach, Johnny Samuels, a 1968 graduate of FSDB, is a superior role model for the team members. The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind has long held that a strong athletic program contributes to students’ confidence and success.
Located on 70-plus acres in St. Augustine near the Atlantic Ocean, the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind serves over 800 students from all areas of Florida. Founded in 1885, the school is a national leader in the education of deaf and blind students. FSDB is an accredited Florida public school, is free to Florida residents, and offers on-campus education for pre-school through 12th grade. Meals, boarding and transportation to and from the campus are provided at no cost to students.

Emma’s House of Sound
Subject: Emma’s House of Sound
There will be a small play at Limelight based on a true story about a deaf girl who struggles to make friends with hearing children at a public school. She helps the hearing children understand what it is like to live in a world without sound by orchestrating a choir with make-believe instruments. The students play the instruments without sound. Emma, played by Mara Stultz, signs throughout the play… The play will be interpreted all 3 nights of Sunday, May 24, Monday May 25 and Tuesday May 26 at 7:30 p.m. It will be a good idea to call ahead to reserve your seats since seating is limited. Call (904) 825-1164.
Limelight is at 11 Old Mission Road next to the Ramada Inn close to the Mission of Nombre di Dios (large cross).
